sync is a print-at-home zine series published every week in 2018 and 2019 at sync.abue.io.
Both iterations are also available in an open edition of analog boxes, printed on my own office printer, bound with Plockmatic BM60 and trimmed with Ideal 3600a. Each box includes two additional zines exclusive to the analog edition: an afterword and an index with descriptions, tags and crossreferences.
The sync zine analog edition is available for 40€ per box and can be ordered via email!
sync's first iteration from 2018 includes 50 zines circling largely around post-digital publishing, poetry, investigations of character encodings and text framings as well as syncing the private and personal via a strict publishing routine. The second interation from 2019 used this established platform to publish 50 works by artists that would at the same time submit to the zines format as well as opening it up in various ways to establish a canon one node away from my own practice.
The second iteration of sync includes works by Rembert Hueser, Petra Schulze-Wollgast, Maru Mushtrieva, Mara Genschel, Álvaro Seic̜a, Swantje Lichtenstein, Hannes Bajohr, Felipe Cussen, Jörg Piringer, Lena Vöcklinghaus, Renee Carmichael, Jasmin Meerhoff, Sarah Berger, Hanna Engelmeier, Marc Matter, Danny Snelson, Franz Hempel, Maxi Wallenhorst, Ľubomír Panák & Zuzana Husárová, Thorsten Krämer, Xaver, Cia Rinne, Kinga Tóth, Noah Travis Phillips, Maggie Rosenau, Alan Sondheim, Allison Parrish, Kathrin Passig, Nick Montfort, Lucy Cunningham, Ruby Lewis, Graeme Miller, Olivia Russell & Nick Thurston, Dagmara Kraus, Claudia de la Torre, Tomomi Adachi, Derek Beaulieu, Christoph Szalay, Antoine Lefebvre, Anaïs Berck, Mo Sperrer, Tim Holland, Shigeru Matsui, Daniel Falb, Charlotte Warsen, Tabea Nixdorff, Sophia le Fraga, Craig Dworkin, Silvio Lorusso, Gregor Weichbrodt, Magdalena Treutwein, Esther Seyffarth, Bleeptrack & Harry Josephine Giles.
